Introduction
DolphinQ is the AI-native SDLC workspace. Bring your own AI — Claude, Codex, or any MCP client plans the work, builds it, and reports back, while DolphinQ keeps the timeline, dependencies, and history.
What is DolphinQ?
DolphinQ is a workspace where your own AI runs the delivery loop. Instead of manually creating tickets, filling out forms, and chasing status updates:
- Chat to create — tell your AI what you're building, and it creates stories with titles, components, priorities, and dates
- Ask about progress — query your timeline, blockers, and priorities through natural language
- Close the loop — your coding agent logs progress, links PRs, and marks work verified on the story it built
- Visualize instantly — stories land on Gantt charts and dependency DAGs the moment they're created
Core Concepts
Workspace
A workspace is your team's home. Projects, stories, and members all live inside a workspace. Each member connects their own AI — via OAuth or a personal MCP token — so every action is attributed to them.
Story
A story is a unit of work — a feature, bug fix, or task. Stories have titles, descriptions, priorities, assignees, dates, and component tags. Create them through conversation, not forms.
Dependency Graph (DAG)
Stories can depend on other stories. DolphinQ visualizes these as a directed acyclic graph, highlighting the critical path — so you see what's blocked, what's ready, and where the bottleneck is.
Gantt Timeline
Story timelines are visualized on a Gantt chart. Your AI populates this via MCP as it creates stories — no manual entry or drag-and-drop required.
MCP Integration
DolphinQ exposes a full set of tools via the Model Context Protocol — create projects and stories, wire dependencies, log progress, query project status, and save analyses. Every call is scoped to your identity and workspace.
How It Works
Plan
Describe what you're building. Your AI creates stories with components, priorities, dates, and dependency links.
Build
Your coding agent reads the story, does the work, and logs progress, PR links, and verification back to it.
Visualize
Stories appear on the Gantt chart and dependency DAG instantly — timelines, critical path, and blockers at a glance.
Track
Ask about progress, overdue work, and risk. Update status and save assessments through conversation.
